A New Year, A New Challenge!

Hello everyone and welcome back to our first blog post of the year! We know this year may look a bit different, but we hope you enjoy it nevertheless!

Hello to all our volunteers and welcome back to a new year with OpenMinds!

We hope you have enjoyed our crash courses so far and are excited for the year to come! If you are a returning volunteer, you may have noticed some differences with how we are running. We are very keen to keep OpenMinds operating as smoothly as possible this year and in order to do this, we understand that there are going to have to be some changes in how we work…

Firstly, this year, all our crash courses are running online. Although that unfortunately means we won’t be able to see all your beautiful faces in person for a while, we hope this will give you more leniency in attending the courses necessary for you to volunteer next term. We have also introduced a mental health

quiz for you to fill out to demonstrate your knowledge and help you show what you have learnt with us here. We hope changes like these will keep our society as active and as fun as possible for you all in such tentative times.

At the moment, we are still hoping to be able to run as normal next term *fingers crossed!* This site and our social media pages will be your lifeline in seeing what we’ve got on and alerting you to any last minute changes necessary for us all.

We hope that you enjoy the year ahead and that OpenMinds gives you all as much joy and the profound sense of accomplishment that it has given us, the committee, in previous years. If you have any feedback for us, our ears are always open! We want

to make this year work FOR YOU!! Thank you all for your work so far this year and the years prior, and we look forward

to whatever we have incoming!

Thank you,

The Committee

Come along to our next crash course on Tuesday 27th October at 6:45pm!!
